POSITION: Vice President, Finance SALARY: $125K - $150K + Bonus
LOCATION: Burbank, CA
Our client provides media services to content owners in broadcast, cable, broadband, telecommunications and government arenas. Services offered include post-production, media asset management, content distribution and consulting, and systems integration and technology support.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will report to the Burbank-based divisional Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the organization and should be a valuable resource to the east coast-based business units. While the position is based in Burbank, periodic travel (~10-20%) to the east-coast based business units (NY Metro area and Central Florida) is required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee Corporate Accounting's monthly generation of financial statements for U.S. Content Distribution and Systems Technology and Services business units
- Provide support to local staffs in NY-metro area based Content Distribution and Systems Technology and Services business units on an as needed basis
- Work with business unit general and operational management to implement required processes/controls and provide required financial reporting tools to properly control, support, grow and improve the businesses
- Supervise divisional management reporting and analysis including monthly management packages and ad hoc financial and trend analysis
- Ensure timely completion and submission of required monthly and quarterly deliverables to Corporate including Cause of Change variance analyses
- Oversee preparation of accurate and timely annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Management of Capital Expenditure budgets and forecasts and coordination with Corporate to obtain required levels of approval
- Provide financial oversight, analysis and support on new customer deals, capital expenditures or initiatives as needed
- Supervision of monthly, quarterly and annual sales reporting and analysis for purposes of sales incentive compensation
- Support Divisional CFO on ad hoc projects and analyses.
- Directly supervises two employees in the Finance group.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Additional responsibilities include; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The ideal candidate will work closely with the CFO and Corporate Accounting in carrying out their duties as well as developing a close working relationship with the business units.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- The ideal candidate will possess 10+ years of relevant financial/accounting experience working for companies of varying sizesideally in the media services and/or related industries.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting (CPA preferred) and financial reporting as well as financial planning and analysis.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
