Our client is an independent Los Angeles based investment management firm with approximately $16 billion of committed capital under management. They specialize in managing assets in both the private equity and leveraged finance markets.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operations group is responsible for all post trade execution processing including: trade confirmation, settlements, cash reconciliations, data integrity (pricing, ratings, and security setups). This role requires a candidate who is able and willing to remain hands on in project management with a strong background in asset management and alternative investments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements for market value private equity funds (funds invest in high-yield bonds, subordinated debt with warrants, convertible / redeemable preferred stock, common stock, and other structured securities)
• Accounting and financial reporting for recently created distressed and mezzanine investments fund (a private equity fund)
• Tax reporting and compliance (OID accounting, partnership K-1's, and corporate taxation)
• Analytic review of fund performance including performance of funds (rates of return)
• Maintaining documentation of Accounting policies and procedures
• Primary contact and coordinator for auditors
• Various special projects/reports for both internal and external use.

• Public accounting experience (2-3 years) with knowledge in financial services industry a plus or prior private equity fund accounting experience
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Accounting degree
