Gary M. Caporicci
Gary Caporicci, CPA, CGFM, CFF, is a Principal in the audit practice with Stonefield Josephson and is Co-Founder and Senior Partner of Caporicci & Larson, a subsidiary of Stonefield Josephson.
With more than 30 years of diversified business experience, including a specialization in audit and management consulting for government organizations, Gary is responsible for the audit and accounting practice of Caporicci & Larson. His clients include public and private universities and colleges, city and county governments, state agencies, joint power authorities, healthcare agencies, transportation agencies, and special districts.
Previous to founding Caporicci & Larson, Gary spent 11 years with Big 8 professional services firm, Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). As an audit manager with Coopers & Lybrand, Gary gained broad experience in a wide range of industries such as government, construction, manufacturing, mutual funds, and insurance. Additionally, Gary’s prior experience includes a consultant position with public accountancy, KPMG, and vice president of national insurance and financial services company, Pacific Life.
Known for his expertise in the areas of construction and government, Gary wrote AICPA audit guides on these topics, and he has authored many audit and accounting courses for professional groups, as well as academic institutions. He has been a frequent speaker and lecturer at many professional organizations and governmental seminars and conferences including the Government Finance Officers Association, California and Texas Societies of CPAs, Institute of Internal Auditors, major CPA firms, and several universities. In 2006, Gary received the Instructor of the Year award from the California CPA Education Foundation.
